America Haul

Hiya!

Oops, I know it's been a while, but I'm back with a haul! Last week I was on a school ski trip in California and we had time for a bit of shopping. Let's just say I got very excited. By excited, I mean that when we walked into the cosmetics section of Walmart I was having heart palpitations.

Our main shopping day was in San Francisco where we went to the Westfield, but we also stopped off at a huge Target en route to Lake Tahoe (where we were skiing for 5 days).

Alrighty, let's begin.

- Wet and Wild 'Comfort Zone' palette
- Revlon 'Moonlit Jewels' creme shadows

Neither of these products are available in the UK so I was very excited to find these, especially as I've heard a lot about 'Wet and Wild' products through beauty gurus on YouTube. Both were fairly cheap and are different to products I own already, so I thought I'd give them a go. The Comfort Zone palette seems great as you can choose between a warm toned eye look, or use the more cool toned shades. It's also very helpful that it tells you where to put the product!

- Benefit 'They're Real' mascara
- Covergirl 'Lashblast' mascara

I've wanted to try the Benefit mascara for aaaages, and since American cosmetics are cheaper I thought it was the perfect time. (Still a rip off though!) I've also heard rave reviews on the Covergirl mascara, but I accidentally bought it in the wrong colour so I'm a bit peeved!

- Maybelline Baby Lips
- Eos Strawberry Lip balm

Yeah they're lip balms, so not much to say on this. The mere fact that these aren't sold in the UK vastly increases their excitement value. I'm sure the novelty will wear off...

- Maybelline 'Pomegranate Punk' Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow
- Maybelline 'Plum Wine' Dream Bouncy Blush
- Victoria's Secret 'Pure Seduction' Fragrance Mist

OK let's skip to the Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. If you haven't heard of this product then oh my god, it sure is bouncy. Weird. Not a great blush, but if you enjoy products which you can prod with your finger and change shape for fun, then yeah it's great.

- OPI nail polishes in 'OPI.. Eurso Euro' & 'You're a Pisa Work'

You can never have too many nail polishes eh? Eh? Yeah I really didn't need these.

- Bath and Body Works hand sanitisers

Well this was a major source of excitement. Pretty hand sanitisers that don't just smell of alcohol, yes purleaaase!

- Bath and Body Works candles in 'Market Peach' and 'Espresso Bar'

If you read my last post then you really won't be surprised by these...
I can't quite believe I bought 2 400g candles to carry in my suitcase. (It was totes worth it though). I genuinely can't stop smelling these, and yes the second one is coffee scented, and yes it's heavenly.

 Forever 21 necklaces

I picked up these in a last minute dash at the end of our shopping in San Francisco, but I'm very pleased with these as I've been into statement necklaces a lot recently. The necklaces were $6 and $8 which is a real bargain!

Don't worry kids, I bought a lot more food than this, but I might have accidentally eaten it all...

I established that America is the land of peanut butter, so of course I had to try out peanut butter M&Ms and peanut butter Oreos while there. I don't that I ever want to see peanut butter again now.

I'd heard a lot about these Extra 'Desert Delights' chewing gum, and they really are worth the hype! The apple pie flavour tastes EXACTLY like apple pie. EXACTLY. If they don't bring these to the UK soon I shall be starting a protest, mark my word.

I know you can get Pop Tarts in the UK nowadays but I'd never tried them before, not that I really want to ever again! Bit of a let down in case you were wondering!

See ya soon peeps! x

My Candle Obsession

Hiya everyone!

This year I've become ridiculously obsessed with candles (in particular Yankee candles).

Nowadays my room smells permanently of vanilla and other sweet scents, which my mum considers nauseating... but to me they smell like heaven! Not only do candles make your room SMELL amazing, but they're just so good for room decoration. In general they make me happy. This sounds very sad, I realise. I just reaaaally love candles.

The mini Yankee candles I have are called 'Vanilla Cupcake', 'Wild Passionfruit' and 'Black Coconut', and they're £1.80 each, which is perfect if you just want to sample one of the scents without buying a full size candle (as they're pretty pricey). I usually buy mine from Clinton's Cards, but you can also buy them online. Although they're small, they still fill your room with plenty of scent, yet you'll need to buy a small candler holder to burn them in.

I also bought this heart cake stand from BHS (shown above) to display them in my room - an idea I got from some girls on Instagram!

Is anyone else a candle lover?

Monki Clothing

I have returned from the world of exams, hurrah!!!! (excuse the excessive, over-excited exclamation marks, I'm a bit hyper)

In 2012 I discovered the shop Monki, and it has quickly become one of my favourite places to shop! A Scandinavian brand, with 53 successful stores all over the world, they currently have a store on London's Carnaby Street, and a concession in Selfridges.

I'd say that their clothes are very quirky and on trend, and they are apparently expressive of the street style of Tokyo and Hong Kong. The shop itself is a bit bonkers, with shirts suspended off merry go rounds, giant lanterns with silver foil tassels and mirrored ceilings!

Yet don't be put off by the crazy interior! If you're looking to dress differently to everyone else, with prices slightly cheaper than Topshop, then definitely check it out if you're in the area.

Here's an outfit with some of the clothes I own from Monki:

Ombre Shirt - Monki: £25
High Waisted Jeans - Monki: £35

How amazing are their blouses?

Just bought blouse number 3, how naughty of me. Yet they're £25 which is fairly reasonable, if I say so myself!

February GlossyBox

Hi peeps!

If you haven't heard of GlossyBox, it's a monthly subscription service for £10 a month (excl. P&P) where you are sent a box of 5 deluxe beauty samples (some full size, some miniatures). The box is an exciting way to try out new products, from more well known brands or from brands you may not have heard of before! All together, the products are worth well over £10, so it is definitely worth ze money.

Therefore I thought I'd share my box with you all, as it might be something you're interested in! Part of my Xmas pressie this year was a 3 month subscription, so sadly this was my last box :(

Each months box is themed, for example Jan was the 'Detox Box' and Feb is the 'Valentines Box' (much excitement)

Dun Dun DUUUN... I wonder what's in the box...

 Oh ma gawd it's pink

Anatomicals - You Need a Blooming Shower (rude if you ask me): full size is worth £5

Micabella - Mineral Eye Shadow: full size is worth £14.95

Sassoon - Professional Spray Shine: full size is worth £14.89

Me Me Me - Fat Cat Mascara: worth £7.99

Miners Lipstick - Pink Shimmer: worth £3.99

A lollipop!!!!!! (yay)

I haven't tried out any of the products yet, (OK I tell a lie, I've eaten the lollipop. T'was fabulous) but  overall I'm impressed with this months box. It's nice to get lots of makeup, as January's box was all skincare, but I'm more of a makeup gal!

My Fave Trends: SS13

Hiya guys,

Some of the biggest trends this season are florals, monochrome & stripes - all which I looove.

Here are some ways that I'm wearing them, perhaps to give you some ideas! (Caution: Bit of a Topshop overload)

FLORALS

Contrast Floral Print Tee: Topshop
Baxter Skinny Jeans: Topshop
Denim Jacket: Rokit

I bought this top last week, and my mums reaction was that it's very 'AGH'... (I'm assuming by this she means 'in your face') Hey ho, I'm o b s e s s e d with it! It mixes lots of trends in one, with the florals,  block patterns and the checked print. Definitely wear with a jacket in the winter, so you don't freeze to death!

MONOCHROME

Aztec Midi Dress: Topshop
Leather Jacket: New Look
Ankle Boots: New Look

Eeeek I'm so excited to wear this dress out! I'm trying to think of ways to make it look more casual, cause at the moment it looks quite formal, especially with the tights & boots. What are your thoughts?

STRIPES

Stripy Shirt: Topshop
Baxter Skinny Jeans: Topshop
Necklace: Dorothy Perkins
Loafers: Primark

I'm so pleased that stripes are still in fashion, as I bought this nearly a year ago! Definitely think I'll stick to the vertical stripes, as horizontal could be a bit dodgy...

Hope ya liked the post! x

A Guide to Long Lashes

Hiya everyone,

Over the last few years, over a billion people have asked me what mascara I used, so I thought this would be an ideal thing to blog about! (Warning: this post contains slightly creepy pictures of my eye)

I'm currently using two mascara's. For lengthening: L'oreal Telescopic, Carbon Black, and for volumising: Maybelline The Colossal, 100% Black. I also use the No7 Eyelash Curlers (shown below)

Now for the exciting part!

So here's my eye au-natural

Then... after holding my curlers over them for 30 seconds

Then I do one coat of my L'oreal Telescopic, Carbon Black
You can see how well this lengthens them!

Finally... (cue dramatic music) here are ze finished eyelashes, after a coat of Maybelline The Colossal, 100% Black  However, if you prefer a less clumpy look then this step is optional :)

I love both these mascaras, neither smudge during the day and they are both fairly easy to remove. I'm also desperate to try the Benefit They're Real mascara, has anyone tried it?
